About our Bags

We make everyday leather bags that last. Classic styles, made with the best materials we can get. We’ve removed the unnecessary things. The things that break and wear out. We’ve kept all the good stuff. We build our bags using a single piece of leather that we hand select from each hide. No piecemeal bags and no cutting corners; but we do hand-cut each bag from beautiful sides of Horween leather. Straps are cut by hand from Wicket & Craig bridle leather. The patterns we have developed are simple by design. Each of our bags is one piece of leather and seams are triple stitched to ensure they never come apart. Straps are attached using solid brass hardware and the straps themselves are solid, heavy duty bridle leather. Our straps won’t come apart at the seams since there are no seams. Some may consider these bags simple, and we agree. Simple things done to the highest standards are kind of our thing. If that’s your thing too then you’ll love our bags.

About our Leather

Do you know where your leather comes from? If you own any leather goods and the folks who made it don’t make it clear where the leather is from then you probably don’t want to know. We are proud to use American leather tanned by the legendary Horween Leather Company for all of our bags. We also use Wicket & Craig leather, tanned in Pennsylvania for all our belt and strap leather. These tanneries have been around for generations and adhere to the highest standards when it comes to the quality of their product, the safety of their employees, and their impact on the environment. If leather is tanned in a location that does not have environmental standards or workplace safety standards, then the effect on the humans making that leather and the location where it’s made can be catastrophic. We are extremely proud of where our leather comes from and we hope you are too.

Horween Leather Co. was founded in 1905. For more than 100 years their goal has been to make the world's best leather. The leather we have selected for our bags is tanned using their Cordovan vegetable tanning formulas which are over 100 years old. Their leather incorporates a richer blend of oils and waxes than traditional vegetable tanned leathers, which results in a leather that will age beautifully.

Founded in 1867, Wickett & Craig is a premiere vegetable tannery. A labor-intensive method that requires skilled workers, veg-tanning is a natural, eco-friendly process that produces durable, exquisite leathers recognized for their depth of color and rich patina. Today Wickett & Craig calls Curwensville, Pennsylvania home, making it one of the only specialty vegetable tanneries in the U.S.A.
